Walking Through Lent

The theme as we travel through Lent at UMCE is ‘Walking With Jesus’.  As we know, our bodies are God’s Temple, and it seems as though as we journey through life, we sometimes add a few extra rooms to our Temples!  Pastor John and I are involved in a ‘Temple Restoration Program’ by trying to drop a few pounds and become more active in our daily lives.  If you’ll remember the story of the Paralytic man … he was carried on a mat to see Jesus; the room was so crowded with people listening to Jesus that his friends lowered him through the roof.  Jesus healed him, and said ‘Arise, pick up your mat and walk!’  Pastor John and I are challenging all of us to add a little more steps into our lives, and we’d like to invite you to ‘Arise, pick up your water bottle and walk’ to a DVD Walk in Faith series by Leslie Sansone.  It’s a brisk two-mile power walk that is done in place.  Everyone can walk at their own pace, sit down when needed; or for those of you who don’t walk well, just stay seated and move your legs and arms in place. Remember… this is not just for women – we’d like you fellows here, too!  We’re going to meet during Lent, starting Sunday, February 28 the following times:  Sunday 5 pm, Wednesday 6 pm, and Fridays 2 pm.  We’ll have fun together as we walk together during Lent.    Please let Pastor John (johnp56@cox.net) or Candy (cmorgans@cox.net) know if you’ll be joining the group by email, if you already haven’t done so.

Thank you!
